LIVE EDGE SLABS
We source slabs from Aaron Ivie in Missouri, where he salvages logs from windfallen trees, the dump, and sometimes will cut a tree down for a homeowner. He then mills the logs, dries them, and we get them to our shop in Colorado. Many of these slabs are integrated into our furniture, but we are always open to selling our slabs for those who want to do their own projects with them.
Prices are determined by species, quality of the slab, and thickness. We prefer to sell our slabs as whole pieces rather than cutting them down. Hardwood is often priced by Board Foot. The formula is (Length in feet x Width in inches x Thickness in inches / 12).
Species that we often stock include: Walnut, Soft Curly Maple, Eastern Red Cedar, and Red Oak.
We have lots of rounds, as well, which make nice side tables and coffee tables.
